We pay Sandfields Primary a visit
Nestled in a residential zone of Tongaat is Sandfields Primary, a local school that serves the children from 4 surrounding impoverished settlements. As soon as you enter the property and are greeted by the friendly grounds staff, you know you are in a special place. This school has historic roots, and it is growing, developing and flourishing through the leadership of principal, Mr Ravendra Singh, who only joined the school in July 2019. Mr Singh and his staff work tirelessly to secure resources for the school so that despite the poverty-stricken homes their children come from, these children have access to a safe, nurturing and empowering environment. Speak to Mr Singh and he will tell you that his primary goal is to give his children a fighting chance – they must be so well-rounded on completing their primary level education, that they must be sought after by the local high schools who consistently produce academic excellence. Mr Singh and his team are making exceptional progress in this regard.
We recently visited the school to hand over food parcels and care packs to some of Sandfields Primary most deserving children. 25 children received food parcels and 50 girls received care packs.
We say a massive thank you to a host of supporters that made this possible:
